SEA-MaP Dissemination Event Strengthens ASEAN Knowledge Exchange on Plastic Packaging, Waste Trade, and Single-Use Plastics

Bali, Indonesia, 29–30 June 2026 – The Southeast Asia Regional Program on Combating Marine Plastics (SEA-MaP) convened the Dissemination Event: Packaging and Trade in Bali, Indonesia, bringing together representatives from ASEAN Member States (AMS), the ASEAN Secretariat and regional partners to exchange knowledge, share national experiences, and strengthen regional cooperation to tackle marine plastics.

SEA-MaP Commences Third Knowledge Exchange Program in Da Nang, Viet Nam

Da Nang, Viet Nam, 20-21 July 2026 –The SEA-MaP Regional Project kicked off its third year of the Knowledge Exchange Program (KEP) in Da Nang, Viet Nam, which comprised a two-day training and two-day study tour with the theme of “Advancing Circular Economy for Plastic Waste: System Innovation and Strategic Policy Approaches”. The KEP was participated by representatives of the ASEAN Member States (AMS) and the ASEAN Secretariat, and was faciliated by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), in coordination with Viet Nam Agency of Seas and Islands (VASI), Da Nang Department of Agriculture and Environment (DAE) and the SEA-MaP Project Management Unit (PMU).

SEA-MaP Stakeholder Consultation Advances the Design of Regional Training Program on Plastic Waste Management

Video Conference, 12 May 2026: The Southeast Asia Regional Program on Combating Marine Plastics (SEA-MaP) convened a Stakeholder Consultation on 12 May 2026 to gather inputs on the development of the Regional Training Program (RTP) on Plastic Waste Management. The workstream supports the implementation of Action 10 of the ASEAN Regional Action Plan for Combating Marine Debris (2021–2025), which calls for the coordination of regional training programs on plastics and waste management.
