This regional project demonstrates the commitment and resolve of our member states to proactively address this cross-border issue and improve the health of our oceans and the lives of the numerous people in ASEAN who rely on them.
I trust that the SEA-MaP will play a pivotal role in supporting the ASEAN Member States in implementing the RAP, promoting a transition to a blue economy, a circular economy, and enhancing coordination at the regional level to address the issue of marine debris.
Marine plastics pollution knows no borders, therefore, new partnerships and ambitious ideas are key to taking urgent action. [SEA-MaP] offers a path towards significant regional solutions, guided by mutual interests in promoting sustainable practices and protecting marine and coastal ecosystems across Southeast Asia.
